The Jean-Sébastien Thomas Award was created in honour of the former head of global R&D sustainability, who passed away in December 2014. Jean-Sébastien was an outstanding member of the sustainable development community, recognised both within ArcelorMittal and among his peers. The Jean-Sébastien Thomas Award rewards the most innovative paper, in terms of methodology and results, presented at the annual Society & Materials (SAM) conference.
